Carving a mask
We'll follow David as he assembles a Killer Whale / Woman of the Water Transformation mask. This mask was carved as a commission for someone from David's home of Metlakatla, AK.

| The basic form of the inside mask is nearly complete.

After carving, each half of the outside mask form is adjusted to fit the mating half.

| The inside and outside masks are fitted before painting and assembly.
|

The components are painted.

| The assembly is allowed to dry thoroghly.
|
|
|
The finished mask is ready to use in a dance.
